Yoga Studio and Gym Floor Privacy in Just Seconds with DuraFlex

When designing gym and sports club facilities, the requirement for privacy and area separation solutions are becoming increasingly important. When talking to clients, the team at Won-Door has learnt that the most important features for any room dividing solution are effortless operation and a simple, functional design that stands the test of time.

Won-Door’s DuraFlex model partition is a sight/privacy area separation barrier constructed of aluminium panels connected via a vinyl extruded joining hinge. DuraFlex comprises a single layer of 1.6mm aluminium panels operating on a top hung track, with no floor tracks. Each aluminium panel is V-grooved for added strength and powder coat finished to suit. The result is an extremely lightweight partition at only 9kg/m², while remaining the most durable partition on the market.

Each panel is top hung via a ball bearing pin and roller which provides superior durability and trouble free operation. The first partitions Won-Door manufactured 35 years ago are still in use today. Won-Door’s partitions are engineered and designed to outlast the buildings they are installed into.

To get an understanding on ease of use and function we spoke to Flex Fitness Pukekohe Manager Robyn Wilkinson whose DuraFlex model Won-Door has been operating in their gym for five years now. “We installed a Won-Door in 2017 to separate our group fitness space from the rest of the gym,” says Robyn. “The partition is easy to operate and has a simple mechanism for latching shut in the closed position. We have not had to clean it very heavily, as it looks clean and tidy and doesn’t really get dirty. It’s a great solution for dividing areas and creating smaller and more private fitness spaces.”

Since 1987 Won-Door’s acoustic (model DuraSound) and non-acoustic (model DuraFlex) partitioning solutions have become a trusted and proven area separation throughout Australasia, with over 5,000 installations.
